After several years of expanding its activities, the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) has inaugurated a new headquarters which will provide it with a permanent home and help it cope with an increasing workload.

The project, completed with support from the FIFA Forward Programme , means that the CTFA is the first sports organisation in Chinese Taipei to own its own headquarters. The FIFA Forward programme was introduced in 2016 and is built to provide 360-degree, tailor-made support for football development in each of the 2011 our member associations and the six confederations.

The CTFA had outgrown its old headquarters which was situated in a crowded area in central Taipei. The new office is situated in a business district of New Taipei City.

"This ground-breaking project has facilitated the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) in having our first-owned headquarters in history," said CTFA President Chiou I-Jen at the inauguration.

"With the assistance of the FIFA Forward Programme, CTFA is now able to relocate to a strategic business area and further provide a more professional working platform catering to the growing operations and the increasing football activities that CTFA is determined to undertake across the island."

"With the new headquarters in place, the Chinese Taipei Football Family now has a permanent home that can better facilitate the implementation of the association’s long term development initiatives and is ready to maximize the impact of this beautiful game throughout the territory."

In the past few years, the CTFA Division 2 League, Youth League (U15 & U18), and Futsal League have all been established as the country looks to further develop the sport.

"The number of increasing competitions has led to a significant increase in the number of employees needed to manage the daily operations,” said CTFA General Secretary Fang Ching-Jen. “The FIFA Forward funds were crucial to the purchase of our new headquarters in providing a permanent home to the growing CTFA Football Family."

He said that CTFA now had the opportunity to further professionalise football administration, promote grassroots and youth football at the regional level and boost the women’s game to reach its maximum potential.

“Today is a landmark day – the inauguration of your new headquarters and a new epicentre of football in Chinese Taipei that will reap benefits for every stakeholder of the sport nationwide,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino told the inauguration ceremony in video message.

“It means that from New Taipei City, the association is close to the national stadium, can generate strong links with local business and can cater for the growing operations and increasing football activities that are planned across the island.

“These headquarters grant a professional working platform that can better equip the staff of the association to meet its strategic goals, especially when it comes to the objectives in both grassroots and women’s football.”
